About project
Documentary series „Children of Stalinism“ made in coproduction of Czech Television and Sunfilms, in cooperation with FAMU tells political prisoners daughters of 50s life stories, from the times of communism up until today. Seven 26 minutes documentaries originated from political prisoners ‚daughters‘ audiovisual testimonies shot by students of FAMU with 37 political prisoners daughters. The project was co-funded by European Commission grant „Europe for Citizens“ and won European Commission „Golden Star 2008“ award.

Patronages of the premiere
The premiere and the ‘Children of Stalinism’ project were realized under the auspices of: Cardinal Dominik Duka, Archbishop of Prague; Prime Minister Petr Nečas, DSc; Mayor of Prague Bohuslav Svoboda, MD; and Ms. Ája Vrzáňová, the world-famous Czechoslovak figure-skater living in the U.S.A.
The premiere was sponsored by: Varanasi company, Mervart Bakeries and Rohozec Brewery. The media partners of the premiere were Czech Radio Regina and weekly magazines Květy and Týden.

On April 3rd, 2012, happened in the cinema Atlas the premiere of the second part of our seven documentaries from the series „Children of Stalinism“, this time about the Sons of political prisoners of Stalinist era in former Czechoslovakia. This premiere was a follow up of the cinema premiere of the documentaries about the Daughters of political prisoners of 1950s that took part in March 2010.
